Terrific Tuesday Challenge - "Easy Peasy"

Happy Tuesday!  Today marks the start of another fun Terrific Tuesday Challenge hosted by Scrappy Moms Stamps!  This week's challenge is to create a project using the Cricut cartridge Paisley.  Paisley was one of the first cartridges that I ever bought and it was one of my most favorite, so it was fun to dust it off and use it again!  If you don't have Paisley, don't worry - you can still play along.  Just choose a similar cut from a cartridge that you do have!

I used one of my favorite sentiments from the Scrappy Moms set - "A Pinch and a Dash"

Make sure to visit the Scrappy Moms Stamps Site to link up your project!  You can also check out the rest of the design team's projects for this week's challenge!

Materials Used:

  • Card Base - Rectangle sized at 4.25 x 11 from George and Basic Shapes (using Real Dial Size and removed link).  Welded a scalloped circle sized at 3.52" from Paisley using my Gypsy
  • Mat - Rectangle sized at 4 x 5.25 from George and Basic Shapes (using Real Dial Size and removed link).  Welded a scalloped circle sized at 3.75" from Paisley using my Gypsy

EAD Monday Hop - Celebrate!

Happy Monday!  Doesn't an EAD hop brighten up a Monday?  I think so!  You should have arrived here from Jenn's blog, Double N Designs!  If not, make sure to head back to the EAD Designs blog and start from the very beginning!  (Don't you love the look of the new blog?)  This week Liz is giving away some EAD goodies, but in order to qualify for the giveaway - you need to leave a comment at EACH stop on today's hop!

I did a little SIMPLE paper piecing for the bowl of ice cream - could not be easier!

I used this super cute & versatile sticker set for my cards today:

If you would like this set or any of the wonderful scrapbooking rub-ons and stickerz, EAD Designs is now offering FREE SHIPPING!  Just another incentive to give them a try!
This card has a COMPLETELY different feel from my first project, but I thought the sweet image looked GREAT with the sentiment from the "Your B-Day" set.  (Another bonus is that after spending 45 minutes watercoloring the image, I didn't have to worry about smudging a stamp and ruining the whole thing.)  The sweet little girl on this card is one of the super talented Maurie J. Manning's illustrations.  The best part about this sweet digital stamp is that right now she is only $1 and the money goes to the Make a Wish Foundation.  You can find her HERE!

I am the last stop on today's hop!  I hope you had fun hopping with us today!  Don't forget that there is still time to enter this month's EAD Color Challenge.  Enter your project HERE!

Crafting With Cristina

Welcome to Cristina's Blogaversy Blog Hop!  Cristina is celebrating the one year anniversary of her blog, Crafting with Cristina!  If you arrived here from Laura's blog, Makin' Pretty Things, then you are in the right spot.  If not, make sure to go back to Cristina's blog, Crafting with Cristina, so you don't miss a thing! Cristina has lined up LOTS of fabulous bloggers, so I know there will be ton's of inspiration along the way.  I will have a complete blog hop list at the bottom of this post!

Cristina asked each of us to come up with a project that was inspired by one of her projects.  That's not hard - she features inspiring projects ALL the time on her blog!  For my project, I chose one of her Easter cards.

Here's Cristina's card:

You can find her original post HERE!

and...here's my interpretation:

It's a little different, but I think I captured the essence of her original project!  I used a FREE digital stamp from Kim Hughes Paper Smooches line.  If you need to whip together a last minute Easter card, check it out HERE!

Gif Created on Make A Gif

Welcome to the Disney Easter Egg Hop!  If you arrived here from Janis' blog, Pause Dream Enjoy, then you are in the right spot.  If not, make sure to head back to Monica's blog, Simply Cricuting.  She is giving away a Cricut Lite - Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.  In order to qualify for a chance to win this fun cartridge, you need to leave a comment on every stop along the way.  I have a complete blog list at the bottom of this post!

I think a lot of Cricut owners have Disney cartridges that accumulate A LOT of dust, but on today's hop you should see lots of great ideas to inspire you to dust off those cartridges and create!

My daughter got a Woody doll last year for Easter and I decided to put my Toy Story cartridge to use and create a scrapbook page!  The new Playtime Stack from DCWV has the best glittery cloud paper and  I decided it would provide a great background for Woody.  (In case you haven't seen the Playtime Stack, make sure to check it out if you love kraft cardstock (I do).  It is a perfect mix of girly patterns and more gender neutral papers.  I hope you like it!

The next stop on today's hop is

EAD Designs Monday Hop - Friendship

Happy Monday!  Welcome to another EAD Designs Blog Hop!  I hope you arrived here from Jenn's blog Double N Designs...if not, make sure you start over at the beginning - HERE!  Today EAD Designs is giving away a set of the Paper Smooches "Thank You Sentiments," and in order to win, you need to leave a comment at each stop on today's hop!  The winner will be announced next Monday!

Thank You Sentiments
For my project today I made a super easy altered canvas.  I used the beautiful Dandelion Vinyl Rub-Ons.  I love the silhouettes in this set.  All I did was paint an 8 x 10 canvas that I purchased at my local craft store and applied the silhouettes as artfully as possible.  I wish I was a more talented painter and could have blended a few different colors, but it's not my strongest suit.  I still love how it turned out, but I can't decide if I want to use it in my daughter's room like I had originally planned or leave it my craft room...

Here it is framed:

The next stop on today's hop is Liz from Liz's Paper Loft!
I am sure she will have a fabulous project for you!

Have a great day!  Don't forget that Laura from Makin' Pretty Things is hosting the Butterflies & Blogs Birthday Hop this Thursday!  I am very excited to be one of 29 talented bloggers participating!

EAD Color Challenge: Summer Fun

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another EAD Color Challenge!  These colors are very fun and definitely summery!  I hope you can play along with us!  Did you know that just for playing along you receive 25% off coupon to the EAD Designs store and one lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the EAD Designs store!  So...go create!  You can enter your project HERE!

I have been practicing my coloring skills and ran across some adorable images from Maurie Manning.  You can find this adorable "Super Duper Girl" HERE!  She reminded me of Fancy Nancy (minus some of Nancy's super-girly accessories).  If you are familiar with the Fancy Nancy children's books, then you know that Nancy uses a lot of "fancy" words.  She especially likes to use French words whenever possible.  I decided that the "Merci" sentiment from Kim Hughes Paper Smooches Thank You Sentiments would work perfectly with this little lady.  It's not obvious from the photograph, but one of the nicest things about the EAD Vinyl Rub-Ons is that they have a little sheen to them.  It gives the illusion of an embossed image without having to get embossing powder and your heat gun out.  :)  If you haven't given them a try, you should!

Not that I am planning on abandoning my Cricut any time soon, but I have to say that I am having the best time playing around with my watercolor pencils.  It's so relaxing and QUIET!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

EAD Monday Hop - Birthday Hugs

Happy Monday!  Welcome to another EAD Designs Monday Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from Jenn's blog, Double N Designs, then you are in the right spot.  If you stopped here first, make sure to head back to the EAD Designs blog, so you don't miss out on the projects!  I tried out another stamp this week for my project.  My plan was to add another birthday card to my stash using the new Birthday Sentiments from EAD and Paper Smooches, but my daughter took one look at it and said, "Thank you, Mommy.  I love it."  What am I supposed to say to that, except, "You're welcome."  She then proceeded to right a note to the tooth fairy on the inside.

It's hard to tell, but I glittered the fairy's wings, dress and shoes.  This helps to distract from less than perfect shading.  :)

The next stop on today's hop is Liz from Liz's Paper Loft!  I am sure she will have a fabulous project for you!

I have my 3rd sneak peek today!  I am in the mood for summer, and lemonade always makes me think of summer.  My 3 year old loves lemonade, so much so that I can't have it around the house very often.  It's funny how little things like lemonade can make someone so happy...it immediately made me think of this sentiment.  The sentiment I used is from the brand new "All in the Family" set from Scrappy Moms Stamps!

Materials Used:

Bows

Just a quick post with a couple of bows that I am working on for someone.  (This  post is really so she can take a look at them and decide which bow she'd like.)  I know that some of you are waiting on a bow tutorial and I PROMISE that it is on my to-do list (Amanda).

I will have another Scrappy Moms Stamps sneak peak a little bit later today!
