EAD Monday - Birthday Set

Happy Memorial Day!  I hope you are having a fun weekend!  It's time for another EAD Designs Monday Hop!  If you arrived here from Jenn's blog, Double N Designs, then you are in the right spot.  If not, you can head back to the EAD Designs blog, so you won't miss out on a single project!  I have a super simple gift set for you today.  There have been a few family birthdays this month and at the very last minute I realized that I didn't have a card in my stash that was appropriate, so I thought I should start re-building my stash of cards.  I tend to send out birthday cards and thank you notes more than anything else, so it's always handy to have a few ready to go.

This little bag is from the Silhouette Online Store and I wanted to try out a 3D item.  While the little favor bag isn't huge (4 1/2" tall, 3" across and 2" wide), I think it's plenty big for most occasions.  You could easily fit a gift card in it or some candy without any trouble.  I do still have to get used to the little score marks that the Silhouette adds to it's projects.  I will have a little review of the Silhouette later this week!

The next stop on today's hop is
I'm sure she has a fabulous project to share with you today!

Materials Used:

Will see you back here a bit later in the week!
I am hoping (fingers crossed) to do a QUICK video this week showing how I heat emboss my stamped sentiments and a few other viewer requests!

Happy Wednesday!  I have another project using the brand new set of stamps from Scrappy Moms Stamps - Sun Kissed!  Officially, sneak peek week is just about over, but I still have lots more projects planned with this set!  This layout is super bright and colorful, which may not be for everyone, but I think it's perfect for summer pictures.

If you haven't seen the newest set, check out another look at all of the fun sentiments that are included!  You can order them HERE!

I embossed the sentiment again...I think I may be obsessed.

I have a couple of quick things to share...

If you won one of the card sets from my 1000+ Followers Giveaway, they are on their way to you!  Thanks for being patient!  I really only wanted to make ONE trip to the post office with my 3 year old.  I thank you and the post office thanks you too!  :)

I updated the "About Me" page to include some frequently asked questions!  If you have a question that isn't answered, please don't hesitate to send me an email.  My contact information is also listed there!

There's still time to enter the EAD Monthly Color Challenge & the Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge!  I also added blinkies to my sidebar underneath my design team information, so you will always be able to find the most current design challenges!

I think that's about it!  My husband's birthday is this weekend and my daughter is very excited.  She decided he should have a "baseball" party, so I'll try and remember to take some pictures of what a "baseball" party looks like to a three year old.  So far it involves a lot of balloons, streamers and a cake, of course.

EAD Monday Hop!

Happy Monday!  It's time for another fun EAD Designs Monday Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from Jenn's blog, Double N Designs, then you are in the right spot.  If you hopped out of order, don't worry - just start back at the EAD Designs Blog, so you don't miss out on a single project!

I used a sentiment from the Paper Smooches/EAD Birthday Rub-On Sentiments set.  I love the polka dot Happy Birthday!

I used my new Silhouette again for this one.  I welded two tags shapes together to make the card base.  The cupcakes are also from the Silhouette's online store.    I am still impressed by how cleanly the Silhouette cuts out tiny details.  All of the color cardstock I used for this card is the regular Michael's Recollection brand and it cut beautifully!

Look at those little lines!!!  No tears...clean right angles - what's not to like?

Don't forget that there is still time to play along with this month's color challenge!

The next stop on today's hop is the very craft Liz from Liz's Paper Loft!

I never heard back from two of my winners last week's 1000+ Follower Giveaway, so I will be re-drawing in just a little while!

"Splash" Layout

I have a super super simple layout for you today!  I used my Silhouette again and I am still getting used to the software.  I'm sure if you've used MTC, SCAL or even Design Studio, it would come fairly naturally, but I've only ever really used my Gypsy.  I'm so used to designing layouts in my Gypsy that I am having a hard time figuring out how I am going to translate my normal process to the Silhouette.  My layouts may be fairly simple till I get my bearings. I also have to get used to the fact that I don't have thousands of images at my disposal...well, I do (in the online store), but I can't afford thousands of images right off the bat. ;)

I used the "Sun Kissed" sentiment to accent my journaling space.  It is from the set by the same name!  You can REALLY tell that these are quality stamps, when the outlined font shows up so nice and crisp!

Materials Used:
  • 12 x 12 base (DCWV Brights Cardstock)
  • 11 3/4 x 11 3/4 patterned paper (American Crafts)
  • Photo Mats
    • 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 (kraft) and 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 (yellow)
    • 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 (kraft) and 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 (yellow)
  • Swimsuit Clothesline, Journaling Space, and Ric Rac Border - Silhouette Online Store
  • "Splash" Silhouette software - USING my OWN font - I love that feature!!!
  • Sentiment - Scrappy Moms Stamps - "Sun Kissed" Set
  • Stickers - K & Company
  • Sakura Gelly Roll Pen - White
  • 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Michael's

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek - "Enjoy!"

Hi crafty friends!  I have another sneak peek of the Scrappy Moms newest stamp set, "Sun Kissed," and another project using my Silhouette!  I saw a similar project on Happy Life Crafty Wife, and when I saw a 3D strawberry box on the Silhouette's online store - I knew right away that I wanted to try it out.

Wouldn't this be a cute favor for a birthday party or shower?

For more inspiration - make sure to check out the Scrappy Moms Stamps Design Teams' blogs!

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek - Sun Kissed

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for another Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek!!!  This newest set is perfect for summer cards and scrapbook layouts.  The Scrappy Moms Design Team will showcase this set for the next few days, so there is sure to be lots of inspiration to get you in the mood for summer!

This sentiment is too cute and I thought it would go perfectly with this little cutie that I cut out with my BRAND NEW SILHOUETTE!!!  I'm so excited!  This card is the first (and only) thing that I've made so far with my Silhouette, but so far I am really impressed.

I am not abandoning my Cricut...let me repeat...I am not abandoning my Cricut.  I will definitely still use my Cricut cartridges with my Expression and my super dusty Imagine - I love them, but I am really interested in some of the design flexibility that the Silhouette provides.  For now, I won't provide cut sizes like I normally do with my Cricut layouts and cards.  If more people start using the Silhouette and are interested in the exact dimensions, then I can always start adding them down the line.

Don't forget that I am a guest designer over at Monique Griffith Designs today!  Head on over to her blog when you get a chance to check out my project...don't worry - it's Cricut related.  :)

I am also STILL waiting to hear from two winners from my 1000+ Giveaway!  If I don't hear from them by Monday, I will redraw two more winners!  Are you a winner???  If you're not sure, click HERE to view the winners!

Guest Designer at Monique Griffith Designs!

Here's a peek:

Today also marks the start of a brand new Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek Week!!!  The newest set is very cute and PERFECT for summer cards and layouts.  I will have my first peek for you a little bit later today!

Another Pooh Bear Layout...

Just in case you missed it a few weeks ago...the very sweet Jenny from PaperCut Creations invited me to help her celebrate her birthday by contributing a guest designer post to her blog.  Since it was such a busy week last week and I am gearing up for a big week next week...I thought I would repost the layout here too.
If you can believe it, I actually still have ONE more Pooh Bear layout to work on for our Disney trip...Pooh and Friends are big in my house.  We have watched the preview for the new movie coming out this summer...oh, about 100 times.  In fact - I think that will be the first movie that we take Nicole to see.  As per usual...there is a plethora of stitching.  I had doubts about the tree, but once I finished I loved the way it turned out, so I guess that's time well spent.  :)

I actually just got the pictures for this layout, plus about 100 other pictures this week.  I spent the better part of Monday afternoon adding pictures and journaling to my layouts and then putting them into my albums.  No matter how much I love a layout (or wish it was completely different) - pictures always make them beautiful.  I've even gotten over my nervousness around journaling...who cares if my penmanship isn't perfect - some day Nicole can look at it and know that I wrote it.  I don't think she'll care.

Happy Wednesday!

EAD Monday Hop - Happy

Happy Monday!  It's time to jumpstart your week with a little EAD inspiration!  If you arrived here from the crafty Jenn's blog - Double N Designs, then you are in the right spot.  If not - head back to the EAD Designs blog!  I have been hoarding these little Gnome stickers for a few weeks and I am soo excited that I finally used them - love them!
Garden Gnomes
I had so much fun working on the Cricut Circle challenge on Friday that I decided to try another sketch challenge.  For today's layout I used the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch.  If you don't like participating in the current challenges, make sure to check out Sketchy Thursdays anyway - they have great sketches.  Even if I don't end up following a sketch exactly - it's always helpful to just look at some different layout ideas...otherwise I start to feel like I arrange my pictures exactly the same.
Sketchy Thursdays Challenge

I really wanted to use the blue and white polka dot paper for my photo mats, but I didn't have enough on hand...oh well, they will soon be covered with pictures anyway!  If I am still not satisfied once I add pictures, then I will just add some additional stitching around the blue photo mats.  Hi, my name is Lauren, and I am addicted to my gel pen.

Thanks so much for hopping along with us today!
