Peachy Keen Challenge!

Happy Friday!  A brand new Peachy Keen Challenge starts today!  This week's challenge is to create a 3D object that will hold candy.  This WAS a challenge for me, but not in the way you are thinking.  I knew exactly what I wanted to make, my challenge was to NOT eat any of the candy.  :)  I've been working on eating healthier and Hershey's chocolate eggs are not part of that plan.  I can smugly report that I didn't eat ANY of the candy.  I do have to fill plastic eggs with candy for my daughter's preschool class next week...we'll see how that goes.

If you would like to participate in this week's challenge, make sure to link your project on the

The Twinery & Nikki Sivils

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are having a great day so far!  The Twinery and Nikki Sivils are teaming up today to showcase some very beautiful twine and paper.  I am so excited to share my scrapbook layout using the Audrey collection from Nikki Sivils and The Twinery's beautiful twine.

I don't know about you, but I tend to have the best intentions to use scrapbook kits, but I end up not knowing what to do with the fun stickers and punch outs.  Well...I finally did it - I tried something new and I can't believe that I've been wasting all of those fun goodies.
I did try something a little different.  I gave some of the punch-out images a little more oomph by layering them OVER grunge board and then adding glossy accents on top.  I was so happy with the results.  All of the punch-outs and stickers are adorable on their own, but I love the extra dimension the grungeboard and glossy accents add.
I applied a thin line of glue (I use Martha Stewart Gel Adhesive) and then just placed my baker's twine on top.  I added the little bows on top.  I then added the cute little banner - the glossy accents caused the pennants to curl up a bit on the bottom.  Instead of fighting it, I think it gives it a more realistic look.
I may have gone a little crazy with the glossy accents because I even added it to the letter stickers from the Audrey kit.

Now...if you'd like a chance to win a little blog candy today, make sure you leave comments on The Twinery's blog, Nikki Sivils blog and each of the participants in today's fun team-up.  There will be EVEN more inspiration tomorrow, so make to check The Twinery's blog for even more projects!  The Twinery will be giving away a Colorful Bundle of baker's twine.

A scrapbook layout...what???

It's my turn to post on the Peachy Keen Stamps blog and it's a scrapbooking miracle...I actually finished a layout.  I don't think the "slump" is over, but at least I was able to put something together.  I realized that I never scrapbooked last year's Easter morning pictures, so since Easter is only a few weeks away, I should probably work on that.  Luckily (or unluckily - depending on how you look at it) only a few pictures from last year turned out that great, so I only needed to make a one page layout.
Here are a few close ups:
I colored the little bunnies and used paper piecing for the little accessories.
For a little something extra - I threaded some honeydew baker's twine through the top row of dots created by my dotted scallop border punch.  It was super easy.

Happy Monday or ugh, it's Monday.  I hope you are hopping along with the EAD Designs Design Team this morning!  You should have arrived here from Jenny's blog, Paper Cut Creations!  If not, make sure to head back to the EAD Designs blog, so you miss out on this week's giveaway!

I have a SUPER easy and quick project to share with you today.  All you need is vinyl from the EAD Designs store, and a little tin bucket.  I found this little bucket in the $1 section at Michael's, and embellished it with a cute bunny and some baker's twine.  Easy peasy.

Sweeter than Cotton Candy

I have another sneak peek of the new Spring Fair sentiment stamps from Scrappy Moms.  Just in case you didn't believe's yet another Silhouette-less and Cricut-less card for you.  Coloring is so much quieter...I would tell you that it's also less messy, but my craft room would beg to differ.  :)

As soon as I saw this sentiment, I immediately thought of this image.  This was my third attempt at coloring this little cutie.  I actually really liked my second try, but I ended up messing up the background.  That was only slightly frustrating...and by slightly, I mean totally frustrating.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Materials Used:

  • Card Base - Standard A2
  • Patterned Paper - October Afternoon's Sidewalks Collection
  • Digital Stamp - Cotton Candy via Mo's Digital Pencil
  • Sentiment - Scrappy Moms Stamps Spring Fair set
  • Copics

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek!

I'm back with another peek of the brand new Spring Fair set from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I used another digital stamp too...I warned you in yesterday's post.  I've been practicing with my Copics...a lot.  This is probably the most ambitious coloring project that I've done so far, and I think the only person that I could actually give this card to is my mom.  I'm not sure anyone else would appreciate it enough.  Since this is a digital stamp image, I imported it into the Silhouette software and decreased the size.  I then added the tag shape around the image.  Super easy!
Here's another peek at the new set from Scrappy Moms:

Spring Cleaning = Giveaways

If you are looking for my Scrappy Moms post for today...scroll down!

I mentioned last week on my Facebook page that I am in a scrapbooking slump.  I got a LOT of great suggestions.  One suggestion was to clean out my craft room, and I'm starting with that one.

I have a ton of cards that have never found homes, sooo if you want them - here's your chance.  I divided my cards into a couple of different categories, and then tried to group them together in sets of 4 cards.  I have over 20 sets...that's a lot of homeless cards.

I'm going to giveaway HALF of them now and then the other half next month.  Here's how it will work...leave a comment on THIS post with two pieces of information...which category of cards you would prefer AND a way to get in touch with you.  I will use to pick the winners (there will be 10 winners).  I will do my best to try and match the winners with their preference of cards.  I draw the winners on Friday, March 23rd!

Cute (5 sets)
Peachy Keen Faces and/or funny sentiments
Holiday (2 sets)
Kind of self explanatory...right?
Coffee (1 set)

Pet Themed (1 set)

Hello (1 set)
So...if you would like to be entered to win a set of cards (4 cards NO envelopes) you need to leave a comment on this post with your name/email address and which category you'd prefer.

Winners will be drawn Friday, March 23rd!

Scrappy Moms New Releases!

Happy Friday!  Sorry it's been so quiet this week.  My daughter has been out of school, so I've been trying to spend lots of time with her.  I have also been getting ready for today's brand new releases from Scrappy Moms Stamps!  This is a really fun release!
And to go with these super cute stamps...something brand new from Scrappy Moms...
I used paper for this pinwheel, but I even made one out of felt!  I will show you that one in another post!
Here's one more close up of the sweet image I used for this card.  I have been coloring up a storm, over the last few days, so I hope I don't beat you down with my coloring attempts.

Make sure to check out the Scrappy Moms Design Team Member blogs over the next few days - there will be lots of inspiration!
