Quick Update and a Super Peachy Sale!

Happy Happy Friday!  I hope you have had a good week and will have an even better weekend.  I just wanted to pop in and quickly let you know that Peachy Keen Stamps is having a HUGE sale this fact, I think this may be their biggest sale ever.  You should definitely check it out!

I know the blog has been slow...I actually have a bunch of projects to share.  Peachy Keen Stamps is releasing a TON of new stamps over the next few stay tuned.  There will be lots of fall inspiration to see.  I've seen some of the design team projects and you will be blown away...such talented ladies.  There is a brand new Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge starting this Tuesday, so I will have a fun project to share.  I know some of you are patiently or impatiently waiting for this month's new release from Scrappy Moms Stamps - it IS coming.  As soon as there is a firm release date, we will all let you know!

Let's see...other than that - I celebrated my birthday this week.  It was pretty low key...the whole pregnancy thing pretty much squashes any wild parties.  (Although I'm not sure "wild party" and Lauren have ever been in the same sentence.)  We will be moving my daughter into her new room this weekend.  Wish us luck...she has been a little hesitant.  We are moving her into what was our guest room because it should be quieter once the baby is here and it is slightly larger than her current room.  I have BIG plans for her closet, unfortunately that means that I will have to clean out the guest room closet.  It is in sad sad shape.  Currently it holds almost ALL of Nicole's baby clothes, our baby linens, a Christmas wreath and some random stray clothes of mine.  It also held my wedding dress until last weekend, when my parents graciously took it to their house for me.  Nicole's baby clothes are arranged by sizes, but I HAVE to deal with them.   I have "sorted" through them at least three times, and I still have LOTS...maybe even an obscene amount - especially considering that I have cleaned them out and donated or given away a ton.  I am emotionally attached to her baby clothes, and I had been saving them "just in case." Well...we found out we won't be needing any girly baby clothes this time around.  ;)  (Do you like how I snuck that in towards the bottom of the post, so you actually have to be a dedicated reader to learn that little tidbit.)  I may put off going through the baby clothes until AFTER we get Nicole settled into her new room.  I was thinking about finding someone to turn her some of her baby clothes into a memory quilt.  Any suggestions?  I've been looking on etsy, but it's still a little overwhelming.

Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge!

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are having a good week so far!  It's time for another Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge!  This week's theme is "Back to School!"  I know a lot of you have kiddos that have either just started or are about to start, so this will be perfect for you!  You can link up your project on the Scrappy Moms Stamps site!

My daughter is starting Pre-K, and I have to say - walking into that classroom was a huge slap in the face.  It looks like a REAL classroom - not a preschool classroom.  There are still toys, but that is definitely NOT the focus. Oh well...she's super excited and I'm sure it will make the transition into kindergarten a lot easier (at least for her).

I put together two SUPER fast projects that you could whip up for your little one's backpack or even as a small thank you for a teacher.  I used Momo's tutorial to create a cute little pencil holder, which you could also use for a lollipop or pixie sticks.  I also embellished a bitty bag that could easily fit some cute erasers or some sort of small treat.

Peachy Keen Challenge: Box it Up!

Happy Friday!  I hope you have had a good week, and are ready to play along with Peachy Keen Stamps "Box it Up!" Challenge.  All you need to do is decorate a box using some sort of Peachy Keen image stamp or a face stamps...pretty easy!  Once your project is complete, you can link it to the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog!
I used my Silhouette to cut out this cute little circus box and I dusted off my Gypsy and my Cricut to cut out some little animals from Create a Critter.

Yes...I realize that this male lion has eyelashes.  Of course, I didn't realize it until right after I stamped it.'s a baby lion with super long eyelashes...ok?  Just be glad that I caught myself before I added eye shadow.  :)

There is also a big sale happening today!  Not only on stamps, but also supplies!!!

Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge...on a Thursday

Happy Thursday!  This week a BRAND new Terrific Tuesday Challenge started on the Scrappy Moms Stamps blog.  This week's challenge is to create a new project with a Disney theme!  You could use any of the adorable Cricut Disney carts or any other Disney themed SVGs.  (I do not have the patience this week to deal with those teeny layers...the end.)  I NEED to finish up our Disney layouts - I'm soo close, and I found these shapes in the Silhouette store and they reminded me of the "It's a Small World" ride.  It was one of my favorites as a little girl and it was one of Nicole's favorites as well.  (Plus as a grown up I fully appreciate that there was never a line and you can sit down...for a loong time.)
I played with some of my brand new Cakewalk papers from October Afternoon.  I bought a kit that came with 12 x 12 papers and TONS of embellishments.  I also ended up buying the 8x8 paper because I know I will use it.  I love the colors and patterns, so it's definitely a collection you will be seeing a lot of here!  I used one of their little flags to stamp my sentiment.  Sooo easy!
I added a few Peachy Keen faces to my little people.
I used my favorite offset function in the Silhouette Design software!  I love that it can create instant word art using whatever font I like.  This is the "Brady Bunch" reminded me of the Small World font.

I have one more tip for you and you may already do this, but just in case...
I bought a pack of these little plastic envelopes from Michael's that hold 12 x 12 paper, and I've been using them to organize my paper collections.  When I get new patterned paper, I go through my plain colored cardstock, buttons and other random embellishments looking for things that match.  Once I gather everything up, I put everything in the envelope.  That way - everything is all ready to go and I don't have to spend time digging through things to find the right button or brad.  I also put my paper scraps in the envelope, so everything stays in ONE place.  It's really helped me to use up my supplies.  Oh my goodness...I LOVE this paper collection.  I think I mentioned that earlier, but I really makes me happy.

Matryoshka Dolls!

Happy Wednesday!  It's my turn to post over on the Peachy Keen Stamps blog, and I have a very fun card to share.  A few weeks ago Peachy Keen Stamps offered an epic sale on their face stamp sets, so I thought some of you might be wondering what to do with your new stamp sets.  Face stamps are such an easy way to personalize and peach-ify your die cuts.  I created this cute little Matryoshka shaped card and added an adorable Princess Face...but it's what's inside that makes this card extra special!
I created a little pocket for the "baby" dolls.  So...your lucky recipient will receive 5 adorable little dolls and you have LOTS of room to write a note!  I created the pocket using my Silhouette software, but of course you could create something similar using the Cricut design software.  Here's what mine looked like on the screen:
I used the offset function to create a tiny little "ring" to add more dimension to my pocket.  The extra layers provided a bit more strength and the dolls fit inside perfectly.  I did snip off the top once they were cut out, but if you are a whiz with the software - you could obviously do alter the shape prior to cutting.  You could even skip that step entirely and use dimensional foam stickers.
Here's one more look at my little family of dolls.  The face assortment makes it soo easy to have cute faces - no matter what size your die cut is.

Peachy Keen Challenge Cards!

Were you able to attend Peachy Keen's Release party on Sunday?  Unfortunately...I was pretty sick all weekend...again.  :/  I am ready for this supposed "honeymoon" period that is supposed to happen in the second trimester to begin...any day now.

I was able to whip up a few cards last week to give you a little inspiration for the release challenges over on the Peachy Keen ning site.  My owl easel card is for the 1st challenge!  You still have time to enter!  Add your project HERE!  Really fun prizes are up for grabs.

Kathy is hosting the second challenge - and it's a sketch challenge!  (My favorite!)
I'm so happy with how this one turned out!  Instead of using bright primary colors - I chose to use soft pastels for a little bit different look.  I also added some shading to my paper pieces using my copics.
You can add your project HERE!

All of the prize information and additional details on the challenge pages!  You have until 11:59 CST on Wednesday, August 8th to enter your project!

Peachy Keen August Peeks!

Happy Friday!  Have you been enjoying this month's Peachy Keen Stamp of the Month peeks?  These stamps are soo cute, and the design team has LOTS of beautiful projects to help inspire you!  I paper pieced the apples and the super cute little worm for my card today.
I decided to use some of the Christmas paper I used last year for our Advent calendar...definite bonus of liking non-traditional Christmas colors.  I've also continued to outline each of my paper pieced items with a black marker or even a colored pencil.  I love that it helps give you those nice crisp edges...even if your fussy cutting isn't always perfect!
Another quick tip...any time I am stamping a sentiment that has block letters - I first press the stamp into my Versamark Watermark stamp pad and then apply the black ink.  I feel like it helps insure that I get a really nice crisp DARK impression every time.

Don't forget - Sunday is the Peachy Keen Release party!  It starts at 6pm CST!  There will be lots of chatting and chances to win some fun Peachy prizes.  This month's challenges are REALLY fun, so hope you will be able to join us!  If you can't make it to the actual party - don't worry!  You can still participate in the challenges!  There will be links on the home page of the ning site!
