Welcome, and thanks for joining the Celebrate Christmas Blog Hop! This is a combined event for current and alumni Peachy Keen design team members, which means that there will LOTS of inspiration along the way! If you are hopping along with us, you should have arrived here from Janice's blog, Stampin' With Janice. If not, make sure to head back to Kristi's blog so you don't miss out on a single project! (I will also have a complete blog list at the bottom of this post!) Peachy Keen Stamps will be providing an amazing Christmas stamp bundle to one lucky winner. To be entered to win, you need to leave a comment on each blog post. There will be 1 winner chosen to receive the Christmas bundle with a retail value of $150!!! The winner will be announced Monday, December 2nd.
I created a personalized shadow box for today's hop. Once I finished paper piecing the gingerbread house, the project came together really quickly and I know that I will look forward to displaying for many Christmases to come.
I paper pieced the PK-1329 Sweet Home gingerbread house. I used kraft paper as my "base," and all of the patterned papers are from the Santa's Workshop line from Doodlebug Designs. Unfortunately, they don't make it anymore, BUT there are a ton of similar lines out there. I used this line for our advent calendar a few years ago, and luckily I still had enough left to piece this house. I'm pretty excited that it will coordinate, but I'm also a big dork so...
I will freely admit that there is NO way I would paper piece this for a card or even a scrapbook page - but it was completely worth it for this project! Once everything was pieced, I added two layers of glossy accents to all of the peppermint and one coat to just about everything else. I had planned to use some Stickles for the "icing," but I realized on Monday night that I was COMPLETELY out, so I improvised and used some Martha Stewart Glitter Glass Paint. Luckily it worked out perfectly!
The shadow box itself is 8x8. I printed out the names using our regular printer. I did use my Silhouette Design software to help get the sizing and layout correct, but you could just as easily use a word processing program. I used two layers of foam tape to mount the house to the background paper, and added lots of rhinestones. It took a couple of tries to get just the right amount of fake snow, which was a tiny bit messy, but mostly fun! I'm so excited to add this to my Christmas decorations this year!
Thank you so so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy the hop!

Visit their shop and stock up on the stamps you’ve had on your wishlist - you don’t want to miss it! I have had my eyes on THESE super cute gingers for soo long. With everything that happened last year around this time, I talked myself out of such a big project, but I think I am ready to tackle it!

Hello! It's been a loooooong time, huh? I've been busy and it's keeping me away from my craft desk - I promise to do a catch-up post some time this week. Today I have a real live project to share...it's a miracle.
If you have read my blog for awhile, you may remember that I was on the EAD Designs Team for a long time - and I LOVE and MISS them greatly. Sadly, EAD Designs closed about a year ago, so you can no longer purchase their super cute stickers or wonderful vinyl. I know some of you still have their items stashed away. I have all of my EAD goodies tucked away in a binder, and I haven't wanted to use them because once they're gone they are gone - (I have issues - I still have stickers that I've had since childhood, but we don't need to delve into my hoarder like tendencies right now) BUT that's probably not the best solution.
Luckily Amy got a bunch of EAD fans together and put together a fun opportunity to help inspire you to use some of your EAD products. We will all probably end up using different products, but we are all using this week's STS Sketch.
Would you like a chance to win some EAD goodies of your own? Leave a comment on each of the blogs listed below for a chance to win! There are a total of FIVE prizes being awarded! The deadline to leave a comment is Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:59p Pacific.
All of these links will take you DIRECTLY to the correct blog post, so it will be easy peasy to leave a comment. Can you believe some people post things on their blogs on a regular basis? Ha! (Crying on the inside.)

This set is great for wedding OR anniversary projects.
They are also releasing a super cute new Halloween themed set - Love at First Bite.
It's hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Saturday! I have a super speedy craft to share today using the two new stamp sets from Scrappy Moms - Happy Mail and Ice Cream Social. This week we had Nicole's kindergarten orientation, so I started thinking about quick and easy gifts for teachers and administrators. I used stamps from both sets (the coffee cup is from a Peachy Keen Stamp of the Month set. You can find it here.) to create a simple gift card holder. I can add a Starbucks gift card and a few candies - good to go.
Hope you have a great weekend! We're still in the midst of our kitchen remodel. I am not afraid to admit that I had a bit of a breakdown last week, but luckily we are in the home stretch. It will be beautiful. (I repeat that about 100 times daily.) I can't wait to have a kitchen sink again. Doing dishes in a tub in the kids' bathroom has lost some of the novelty at this point. ;) Plus, one more week of summer vacation and then school starts! Woohoo! I was dreading it, but now I'm looking forward to having more of a schedule.

Happy Monday! Hope you are having a great day so far! I had this post ready to go, but I decided I needed to re-write it and try and take new photos. I learned an important lesson...it's pretty much impossible to do that with my newly mobile little boy. I have trouble on my hands and it starts with a capital G. He is into EVERYTHING. I will be purchasing a few more baby gates.
I used the brand new Ice Cream Social set from Scrappy Moms Stamps to create a little gift box. While Gavin was in the hospital, a super sweet friend dropped off dinner AND some little cupcakes for dessert. I let Nicole decorate them with some sprinkles and she was in HEAVEN. I love that she still appreciates little things. Ever since then, I've had this idea to create an "ice cream social to-go gift". I know that I always have BIG ideas to create really special memories for Nicole and sometimes life gets in the way. How fun would it be to drop off all of the ingredients for a fun ice cream party for someone special? Sprinkles, hot fudge, maraschino cherries (a must in our house) and a carton of ice cream...done!
I meant to add some little white gel pen accents, but I didn't realize that I forgot until I took pictures for the SECOND time. Wow. Mommy-brain is in full effect.
Do you ever imagine that you have a certain embellishment or paper, but either it never existed OR it's buried somewhere in your craft supplies? I could have sworn that I had some 1" or 1 1/2" brown grosgrain ribbon to match my pink and brown polka dotted ribbon, but either I dreamed it up or I used it already. I tried it once with just the polka dot, but it really needed something else. I decided to fake thicker ribbon by using two lengths of 3/8" ribbon, then layering my 7/8" ribbon in between. I use my ATG to attach ribbon to most projects and it's perfect for this - because you have a bit of wiggle room if you need to reposition the ribbon. IF you are super careful, you could always use a little hot glue too.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Before you go...I have some thoughts on scrap-lifting etiquette. Last night I saw a project posted on Facebook by another crafter...no big deal, except that I recognized that another crafting friend made the EXACT same project two years ago. (It's an amazingly beautiful project - it's been pinned a lot.) It's TOTALLY ok to use blogs and Pinterest for inspiration - that's what they are here for, BUT it is not ok to not link back to the original project. It gets a little tricky with Pinterest, but you can help. When you pin a photo from a blog, make sure it's from the ACTUAL blog post - not just the blog address. It's just common courtesy. Let's all try and respect each other's talent.

Happy Friday! Scrappy Moms Stamps is releasing two new stamp sets today! I have some super cute (and super fast/easy) lunchbox notes to share with you today using the Happy Mail set. I know many of you have already sent kids back to school, but luckily (or not...depending on the day) Nicole does not start kindergarten until after Labor day. I'm excited and a bit disappointed at the same time. I'm so excited that she's going to learn lots of new things and make new friends, but I'm a little disappointed to that my little buddy is going to spending her days at school. I will miss her!
Now...you could obviously make these little notes as elaborate or as simple as you'd like. I found a happy medium. I was going to add die cuts, but then I remembered that these are going inside her lunch. They will probably be admired and then tossed. (Totally fine with me by the way.) The Happy Mail is perfect! I added a few little image stamps that I bought a while ago from the 99 cent section at Michael's...but other than that - ALL of the sentiments and images are from Happy Mail.
To speed up the process, I stamped all the cards in assembly line fashion. It was quick and easy! I did color in the images with my Copics...but I didn't do any blending. I could have just as easily used Nicole's markers or crayons or colored pencils.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to stop by over the next few days for more projects using Happy Mail and Ice Cream Social!
Have a great weekend!

Where has the week gone? Mine started with me throwing my back out...awesome. The best part is that I did it while getting Gavin out of his car seat...really? How unathletic is that? I had parts of my cards all ready to go for about two weeks, but things keep getting in the way of me and my craft desk. To help make up for it - I have two projects to share today and one more that I'll be sharing tomorrow.
Here's one thing that has been taking me away from the craft room:
|And no...I'm not making a ton of ice. I WAS making baby food for Gavin, so I had ALL of my ice cube trays out.|
That is my old kitchen on the left and our new temporary kitchen to the left. It used to be the dining room...now it's the dining room/kitchen. I'm so incredibly excited to be saying goodbye to the old kitchen that I'm totally ok with dealing with the mess and everything else. Although, we're only two weeks in...you may want to check back with me in a few weeks.
The cabinets went in on Monday and they will start working on a bead board ceiling and new floors next week. Whew! I cannot even believe it.
Moving on to my projects...
I love this bear paired with the "Bless your heart" sentiment from the new Lean on Me stamp set from Scrappy Moms. I used my white gel pen to add the pops of white to the bear. I then used my black gel pen to go over some of the lines that were a bit blurred by the white.
I know...ANOTHER stamped image. It's just so much easier right now to work with my Copics than my Cameo. These little people that live here too require a lot of attention.
Here's another close up of the super sweet image. I thought it paired perfectly with the sentiment. It also reminds me a bit of The Paperbag Princess. (Just a bit...but it is one of my favorite picture books. If you have a SUPER princess-y little girl - it is a nice counterpoint to some of the Disney princess stories. Not that those aren't super popular in my house...because they totally are.)
See you back here tomorrow with another project and some thoughts about blogging in general.

Happy Saturday! I hope you have had a good week...it's been super busy around here. Scrappy Moms Stamps just released a brand new stamp set AND a super cute die.
Make sure to check back all week for lots more peeks!

Happy Tuesday! A brand new Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge starts today! The theme is Red, White and Blue! It's really easy to play along - just make a *new* project incorporating red, white and blue, then link it to the Scrappy Moms blog, HERE! I hope you'll play along with us! My sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms Stamps set - Fun Celebrations.
This little cutie is from Whimsie Doodles. She's a freebie and you can find her HERE! I randomly came across these super cute digital stamps and they remind me of my Emily and Adam books that I read when I was little. Just a note...as with ANY digital freebie - IF you use one it's ALWAYS nice to link back to the artist's website if you are posting on your blog. I'm just saying...
Nicole also decided to get in on the fun this week and she colored and fussy cut her very own. She used watercolor pencils and glitter glue. :)
I also was planning on posting this one yesterday in celebration of Canada Day...but you know. Stuff happens. She is another freebie from Whimsie Doodles. This cute sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Proudly Canadian set.
A few things...
I forgot to post about the fact that Google got rid of Google Reader. I recently started using BlogLovin to sort through the blogs that I read and I LOVE it! I especially like their iPhone app. Since I am not on my computer as much as I used to be - it makes it really easy to catch up on my favorite blogs. LOVE it!
I PROMISE I am still going to post a craft room tour. I had planned to get it finished over the weekend, but someone in our house is teething and is EXTREMELY disgruntled by the whole experience.
Also...tomorrow is going to be a stressful day in our house. Gavin is undergoing a test at his endocrinologist's office. IF everything goes smoothly and he passes, it will mean that his endocrinologist will sign off and release him. We will be DONE with his endocrinologist FOREVER! If not...it will still be ok, he will just have to undergo another test in 6 months or so. So...any prayers or happy thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Happy Friday! Scrappy Moms Stamps is releasing two brand new sets this month and today marks the start of our sneak peeks. I know that I promised a craft room tour on my Facebook page...it's coming. I promise. This last week was hectic. I thought that I would have time to craft because Nicole was at VBS this week, but stuff kept happening. Stuff like this...
|Hooray for my little buddy sitting up on his own!|
Also...stuff like getting spit up on about 100 times a day and diaper blow-outs and whiney five year olds also happened. To top it off the smaller one was on a nap/sleeping strike for a few days, which sent this mommy into a bit of a sleep deprivation tail spin. He had been spoiling us with 6-8 hours overnight, so my body got a taste of sleep...and it wants MORE! Oh well...back to crafty stuff.
Here's a peek at the set I used today:
These are super cute, but are also making me feel slightly guilty about the fact that all my plans to "garden" this summer have gone out the window. I know that I always start out with the best intentions, but by the time July rolls around - I will be completely unmotivated to water. It's just too hot here. (At least for me...my ideal weather is about 76 degrees with a slight breeze.) Maybe next year...
Here's a close up of the little sweetie that I used. I am not super happy with her hair, but I was trying a new color combination. I may not try that one again. ;) You can find her here at Mo's Digital Pencil.
Here's a peek at the other set releasing today!
So cute! These are a little larger and there are so many possibilities!
Make sure to check out all of the design team's blogs for lots more inspiration! This month Tara from Craftin Desert Diva's is joining us!
